Update for February 2003
Wednesday, February 26, 2003 10:15pm EST
Doing well, just busy. Our Night of a Thousand Gowns charity ball is coming up soon. Took some time off today to go pickup my friend Jerry and take him to Costco. We bought tons of stuff needed for the Hospitality Suite that weekend. We entertain friends from out of town courts there. They entertain us when we visit there town, so it's our turn. Lots of work things going on. Busy with school as always. But I figured out my major problem with my first program for this new class. Took me some time and help from a team member, but figured it out.

Wow, what a day. Around 12:20am yesterday a car hit a power pole and blacked out the Teterboro area for a few minutes. Turns out that the batteries in our uninterruptible power supply were old and did not hold the load. Thus, we dropped power on half of the computer room again. I was at work from about 1:30am until 4pm yesterday. What a mess. It all went down right in the middle of processing, and some of those big instrument machines absolutely do not like to be crashed in the middle of doing something. My back was bothering me, so I got up after going to bed at 7pm last night. I stayed up because I needed to do laundry and a few things around the house. One was also eating a little and relaxing before sleeping. Now I am going to do a little school work before going back to bed. Oh, and here is a bit of good news. My Saturday weigh in was 315. I started at about 340 so I've lost about 25 pounds now. Feeling good about the whole Atkins diet. Sure is different, but after the first few days of no bread or sugar, you get used to it.

I had a rough day at work today. But finally made it home and found another 'A' in my mailbox on my last class. My networking class NTC/360 produced yet another 'A'. That makes 4 in a row now.

Made it home safe and sound. Southern NJ has just been placed on a Blizzard Warning. It's really thick outside.

It's coming down rather thick outside. Time to head back to the barn. I'm done with my discussion questions and ready to leave anyway. People here are talking about the pending snow storm and someone mentioned that New Jersey has already declared a state of emergency. Time to go be safe at home. Car has plenty of gas. So I should be just fine. Watch the news for details.

Well I am back at Starbucks. Sorry about the last update. I forgot to upload it when I got back last night. I heard on the news on my way here that the storm that dumped on DC is now headed our way. Over the next day, we are supposed to be getting between 12 and 18" of snow here. That will be interesting. I'll let you know how it goes. Anyway, I finished the major portion of the paper. Now I need to do some PowerPoint slides to compliment it. I also have discussion questions that I am currently working on. And a bit of reading and then that will be the end of this class. After that, it will be on to my next class.

Over at Starbucks doing school work. I have this huge team paper due and it's just not connecting. I think all of the little dots are there, but some how the line between the dots is just not happening. Well, we will see how it turns out. Other than that, things are fine. Busy at work, but what else is new. Next week I have an evening event in Connecticut on Saturday that I will be attending. It's only about 2 hours away so I'll just drive up and drive back that day. I also only have one class next week so I'll take my book to read and drive up early. Ok, enough putting this off. Time to dive into this paper and see what surfaces.

Another "A" for me. My grade came back for POS/400 and I received another A. That brings my GPA to 3.79 which is not to shabby at all. Anyway, I am here at Starbucks trying to make sure I hang on to that GPA in my other class. This is the end of Week 4 in my Networking class and I start my second Visual Basic class (POS/405) tomorrow. Have finished typing my week 4 summary paper and my bio for my new class. Now have some research to read and work on the team project due in one week.

Just finishing some discussion questions for this weeks assignment. Still have not received my grade from my POS/400 class but I did get my score for week 3 of my networking class and still 100% of my points. WOW. Thought I would drop a point or two. Hopefully I might be able to get an A- for sure now. Still have lots of research to do for that class. Then I start my new POS/405 class on Thursday. Busy, Busy. It snowed here but not much. Only about 2" and it's cold today. Atkins diet is doing well. Got to shower and get to work.

Yesterday I emailed my program that I had been working on. So POS/400 class is over. Right now I only have one class, my data networking class. So, I am still busy. I have lots of reading to do. Then, next Thursday my next class starts. I am expecting an A from the POS/400 class. This current class is harder and I am only expecting a B from it. It's lots of technical stuff which I do not care for. I'm not to concerned about how the little signals get there. I focus more on what happens once they get there. That is why I have data networking people to ask them to figure it out.

I'm back. Over at Starbucks working on school work. Trying to get caught up on the message posts from the weekend and then will work on my program tomorrow. I have lots more to do. I need to figure out the calculations and then, once it is working. I need to go back through it and clean it up. I'm about a day behind right now because of being out of town. But I had a good time at the event in Hartford. Took lots of photo's. I'll drop the film off Monday and should have pictures posted here by Tuesday.
