Tuesday, April 29, 2003 4:45pm EDT
Done with work for now and at Starbucks. Have an assignment that is due today that I need to get done. Was going to work on it last night, but had major problems at work and did not leave until late yesterday. Ran all over North Jersey today working on patient service centers. I think it was 7 that I went to. It get fuzzy after the 4th or 5th. Got to work on this project. I'll post a link to it once I am done. It's a web page with various media requirements in it.

Good grief what a day it's been. We had some major issues at work with the new software version that was installed this weekend. I finally left after 8pm and, I need to head out to three sites in the morning to repair them before heading into work. I hit my first site at 6:30am but I had to finish something for school first. Looks like Tuesday is not looking up yet. Oh well.

Just getting ready to head into work for a bit. Then headed over to Starbucks to get some work done on my classes. Got my grade back on my latest class. Another A-. This was for the NTC410 class that just finished on Wednesday. Wednesday I gave five 2 hour presentations on our web product. Then on Friday I gave 10 short 30 minute presentations to the client service group. This one was more of an overview. WOW. I am talked out. Got some neat pictures from my dad. He has a new bus again and changed his spot where he winters over in Indio, California again. Looks like a really nice bus he has now. He tells me he has a bit of work to do to it. No doubt just making a few changes to his liking. Dad and Connie also sent me some pictures of Amy's (step sister's) wedding recently. I had been unable to attend. Looks like everyone had a good time. So, what has my mom been up-to you might ask? She and Bill have been taking care of official Elk business. Bill is now the leader of the local Elks chapter. So they have been very busy with meetings and planning for all of the charity events and duties that they are now required to coordinate. I'm sure they are busy as all get out. But enjoying every minute of it.

Had my annual physical today and then went back to work to finish up. I got the room all set for my big presentation on Wednesday and finished up some notes. I need to be in around 6:30am to finish up some examples and pull the last bits together. Then my first presentation starts at 7:30am. It's specific for the IT people. So I can sort things out in front of people I work with before my first public presentation is at 9:30am. Then 12:30pm and 2:30pm with my final one at 5pm. It's going to be a long day tomorrow. Just did a bit of school work here at Starbucks. Picked up my computer from home after the doctor and came straight here after getting out of work. Oh, the doctor said I was in good shape. Cholesterol low, Trigs in double digits. And, I had lost 40 lbs since the last time I saw him. Headed home after I post this to get some food and sleep. Wish me luck in my presentations.

Over at Starbucks again. I think I live here. Just getting ready to dive into school work. Got my pictures back from yesterday. Did the Easter Parade on Sunday. Had a great time. Will upload some pictures later. Met the new Director at work. Really seems like a nice person. Looking forward to my first sit down, serious chat with her. Also starting today is the new Manager of the Support Center. He really seems to have some great experience and I am looking forward to working with him. Had a dentist appointment today. I have a filling that has separated from my tooth and that might be what is causing my hot / cold sensation. He said it looked like at least a 15 year old filling. So it was time. Hopefully that will take care of it. I got a neat card from my niece today. She is taking some college classes while still in high school. Anyway, I need to get some school work done.

Thursday, April 17, 2003 10:20pm EDT
Rough day but what else is new. Lots to do between now and then. I'm at Starbucks just finishing up. Watching Denise and company paint eggs. Reviewed my assignments for this week. Was talking with Jeffrey last night. Might do the Easter Parade this year. The weather is supposed to be fine.

Finally think I have gotten caught up with school. Now if I could only do that with work. Have a big presentation that I am giving on Wednesday next week that I have to get prepared for. It's an overview of the changes taking place in our web application called Test Orders and Results OnLine. The version 5.0 comes out on the 27th and the presentation is highlighting the changes between version. I have about 80 people registered for 5 sessions starting at 7:30am and the last one finishes at 7pm. Wow!!! Got to dash to work.
Tuesday, April 15, 2003 TAX DAY 7:00pm EDT
Well I finally did it. I upgraded my broadband connection so that I can be online from Starbucks unlimited. I have a one year plan but it was worth it. I bought a Prepay300 minute plan just to test the waters first. That was $50. I went through those minutes (being conservative too) in only 3 weeks. So I now have a $30 monthly which is unlimited. Will be much easier for school. Besides, I have school until November and then we will just see. Even if I do not use it much after that, it will have been worth it. Well it's tax day today. Work was very interesting. Had a 2 hour conference call this afternoon so I ran out of there later. Anyway, back to school work.

A very busy day today. Got back from Rhode Island just fine. Had a great time there with friends. Work today was very difficult. Got over 150 emails when I logged in this morning. Still sorting them out. Right now I am at Starbucks working through some 100 email posts that accumulated from school during my little holiday. Have a programming assignment to work on in a few minutes too. Good thing I got the major web page program pretty much done on Friday when I was in Rhode Island. Oh, on Saturday I took off an followed the signs for a Russian Submarine Museum. It was the K-77 which was used by Paramount in the movie K-19 The Widow-maker with Harrison Ford. That sub was nuclear but the actual sub that they filmed on was an old diesel sub. It was made in the 50's and was capable of launching nuclear tipped cruise missiles at a 15 degree launch platform when surfaced. It had been decommissioned and sold in the early 90's when the Soviet Union broke up.

I am in Rhode Island right now. We just got back from the Mall and dinner. They have a nice indoor mall here. It's three stories in the main part and a big food court and entertainment area. A theatre complex is up on the third floor too. Dinner was at a place called Fire and Ice. They serve Mongolian style food where you pick out what you want and they grill it on a big grill. I had chicken, turkey a few mushrooms. It was rather good because the people I was with were able to have what they wanted and we were able to have a low carbohydrate dinner. Earlier we went to a fabric store over in North Providence. Bought some fabric for two vests that I'm going to have made. Got some neat purple and black to line it with. Anyway, have some school work to upload and pickup my email.

Just finishing up my school work and then need to pack and get ready for Rhode Island. Have a fun weekend.
Tuesday, April 8, 2003 12:15am EDT
Great news. My WEB 410 Web Programming 1 grades were just posted. I got an A- in the class. So I am pleased with myself. Got to get some sleep.
Monday, April 7, 2003 6:30am EDT
Just going over posts from overnight. School seems good. Waiting on my final grade from WEB410. Expect a 'B'. Got 87.5% from the team project and have been getting 90-95% on papers and individual assignments. This instructor was not as easy as the others. But that was good. Learn more in this class that way. Got to go to work and await the snow. They say 1 to 2" per hour after about noon. Hmmmm.
Sunday, April 6, 2003 7:00pm EDT
Have totally caught myself up with both classes. I am currently taking:
NTC 410 Network and Telecommunications Concepts (week 3)
WEB 420 Web Programming II (week 1)
I got my weekly individual assignment done for Networking and all of my discussion questions. Then in Web Programming I got 2 out of 3 discussion questions done and all of the message postings for both class done. So I am rather set for this week now. On Monday I need to finish up the last discussion question for Web Programming. But to do that, I have to do some internet surfing research. I have been here since about 11am. So I am ready to get out of here. But it was very productive.
Off to find some food. Think I will call ahead to the Oriental place over in Hackensack and go pick it up. They have this chicken and broccoli and then some roast pork which is just fine for my diet. Have to go weigh myself when I get home too. It's the weekend and I am supposed to do that. I had to take my belt up another notch this week.

Did you remember to set your clocks forward??? Just finished changing all of my clocks. Also added some different weather news on my web site as well. And change my archive around for April. My step-sister is returning from her honeymoon. Helped out my step-mom sort out the web sites to track the flight. They were flying to Dallas, TX from Miami and due to Thunderstorms in Dallas, the expected landing time kept getting pushed back. Talked her through how to see that the FAA was reporting that Dallas had a ground hold in effect. Thus, they probably sat on the tarmac in Miami after being pushed away from the gate. But I will hear the story later. Back to bed to get some more sleep, then I have lots to do today for school. I leave Thursday for Rhode Island so have to get this weeks work done and try to get a jump on next week.
Thursday, April 3, 2003 11:00pm EST
Have been rather busy with school and work. My boss announced that he will be taking a month or so off to take care of his new family. He and his wife had a baby boy just a short time ago. Have also been very busy with everything going on at work, getting caught up with school since I am taking two classes at once. I am working to make sure I am on top of things since I am off to Rhode Island on Thursday next week. Will not be back until Sunday and the Starbucks up there do not have hotspot connections and I am not sure of the Kinko's having laptop stations. I might have to dial in. Wow. Have never done that with this system. Hmmm. Got to run. Do not forget to set your clocks back this Saturday.
