Update for November

Monday, November 27, 2006 9:45pm EST

Bought a new car today.  I got a 2007 Toyota Camry.  Get to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.  It is a Desert Sand color model LE.  Really glad I took dad's advise and called around a bit.  Found a different dealer who had a bunch more color's to choose from instead of the place I was at which only had one at the time.  Then the guy called me back while I was at the other car dealer. Got a major headache. Glad I got my individual paper done yesterday.

I am over at Starbucks again.  Have been here for several hours.  Finished my individual paper due tomorrow so posted it to the professor and now just wrapping up things and getting ready to pack it in and head for home.  Have to go get gas in the car first and some milk from the store.

Have been over at Starbucks for several hours working on my school work and also doing some web research on renaissance medieval clothing and doublets for my coronation / ascension walk since I need to get some things finalized so that people who are in the walk can start getting clothing made for it.  Myself included.  The men will have doublets while the women will generally have Tudor court wear.  Need to really focus on my school paper research now.  Just got my grade from last week.  The instructor must have liked my paper again this week.  Got full marks for it.  So that puts me at 100% for the past 4 weeks.  Only 1 more individual paper and then team paper to go now.  I have this individual paper due Monday which is on the security, legal, ethical and privacy issues that relate to database systems.  So that will be interesting to write about.  Then next week I have a team paper and project to finish up.  After that, this class is over and the next one does not start until January 2007.

Just remembered that I had not posted my last few comments because I was having problems at Starbucks getting online.  Hope everyone has a safe Thanksgiving tomorrow.  I am going to still be nursing my back.  It was bad again on Tuesday but has been better today.  Went looking at new cars today to replace my totaled one that I was really not expecting to replace until next year. Ah, what a hassle and money that I was not planning on spending right now.  I like the Ford Fusion but for only a few thousand more I could get myself into a Toyota Camry which was just named the Motor Trend Car of the Year which would really be putting my money to good use.  So I am thinking about it rather seriously.  Plus I really liked the Camry that I was in.

Just finishing up my paper and getting ready to wrap things up here.  Had a nice chat with my friend Mark & Susan as we worked.  Susan is grading papers as usual.  Ready for home so that I can get some speed to the Internet since I can plug in there and post my paper and this web update.

Monday, November 20, 2006 6:50pm EST

Over at my favorite Starbucks working on my school paper due tonight.  I have only a slight headache right now and my back is holding up rather well.  Either that or the drugs I am taking are doing a darn good job. The Internet is down right now here at Starbucks but Mark (a friend who works here) called the T-Mobile hotline and was told it was an area wide problem that they should have resolved in a hour or so.  Time for me to concentrate on my school paper.

Sunday, November 19, 2006 8:00pm EST

Got back from Boston a few hours ago.  Had a nice time up there.  The coronation was great and it was nice to see so many old friends again and talk.  My back was still bothering me but was able to keep up with all of the things going on.  Left my computer power cord behind (my bad) so could not log on from there and make any updates.  Was able to stay current in class by using a friends computer. As usual, have another paper to get done.  This is week 4 so I have this paper and one more paper next week.  Still have a huge headache right now.  Took some pills a bit ago.  Did not want to take any meds while I was driving back from Boston, so only took some this morning.  I am wearing a back/spine brace that my Chiropractor gave me.  Wednesday was the worst for the pain.  It has been getting better.  The combinations of the meds from my MD and the visits to my chiropractor seem to be working.

Took the day off of work today to drive to Boston with Jeffrey.  My friend Warren was also going so he rode up with us.  Stopped in Cliffside Park to pick up my new tuxes.  I bought a new Red one and a new Black one.  Very good price on both of them.  The red one will be a hit at the Holiday Prince and Princess Ball that I am hosting in December back in Portland, Oregon.  It will also be good for some other events that I will be attending during December.  Had a nice ride up.  Got a bit of a late start, but it turned out nice.  Got into Boston around 4pm which worked out just fine.  Did not run into any major traffic on the way up.  Got checked into the hotel and then settled in to the routine.

Sunday, November 12, 2006 9:00am EST

Over at Starbucks trying to get written a paper that is due on Monday.  I have to write 2-3 pages about Implementation and use of an Enterprise DBMS (Database Management System) and cite the advantages and disadvantages. Did most of the research yesterday while I was here.  Today I have a Thanksgiving Social at the Silver Swan in Manhattan at 3pm so need to kick it and get this put together.  Got a 15 out of 15 on my paper from last week.

Saturday, November 11, 2006 9:30pm EST - VETERAN'S DAY

Had a very nice day with a friend of mine who is a Vet.  He served in the Army and Edward was in the Marines.  So I went over to Enzo's Tux Shop in Cliffside Park to see my friend Joey.  Had had special ordered a few things for me.  A nice red tux that I tried on.  Looked great and another new black one to replace my old and sagging one.  He is also getting me a full tails tux all for my year as Emperor coming up.  So bought those and having the sleeves taken up a bit for me.  Then I headed back home and picked up Edward and Kevin.  We all went to the gym for a nice workout.  After that, Edward and I ran a few minor errands and then picked back up Kevin and his friend John.  We went out to lunch and had a nice time talking.  Then off to Tower Records.  They have filed bankruptcy and are clearing out their inventory and closing the doors.  So everything was 30-50% off in the store.  We bought a lot of DVDs and CDs.  After that, we went to Kinko's where Kevin needed to order a few special items to be done.  Then off to the store with a detour to Starbucks.  All in all, a very nice day.  Edward is now up at Kevin's.  They are having a little karaoke fun up there while I am at Starbucks getting some school work done.  I have a Thanksgiving Social tomorrow from 3pm-6pm so have to get some stuff done tonight.  On Monday night, I have a sleep study at Hackensack Hospital so will be unable to work to much on my computer that night.  I am also headed to Boston this Friday for their coronation.  Have also been doing research on Ford cars since I like Ford.  Have looked at a few others, but keep coming back to Ford.  There are multiple Ford dealers in the area and I am not afraid to drive several miles away from my local dealer for a good price from another dealer.  Ford has a 0% for 36 months right now.  So might buy a 2006 model or a 2007 from Ford.  Was looking at a Focus but a friend said they were small and my large size might not like it.  So have also been looking at a Fusion also from Ford.  Just depends upon the final price after rebate and everything.

Wednesday, November 8, 2006  THE DAY THE SKY OPENED UP

Also the day that I wrecked my car.  So not a good day.  I was driving southbound on Interstate 287 at exit 65.  The rain was coming down and I was in the middle lane of three.  This kid (25) was in the right lane, hit a large puddle and hydroplaned and lost control of his vehicle.  He spun out of control all the way to the left lane concrete divider which he hit before spinning back across all lanes and crashing into the concrete under the overpass.  I kept myself under control and slowed way down.  I missed him but the guy behind me did not break quick enough and rammed the back of me and crashed my entire right trunk.  The trunk will not close and appears to be a lost cause.  The car will not start (we think the fuel line was broken too).  So I had to be towed to a storage facility where Enterprise picked me up to get a rental.  I should hear from the insurance agency early next week about the outcome of my car.  Right now I am shopping and looking around at what is available at what prices and what incentives and deals.  Injury wise, my back is very sore.  I was flung forward and then back against my seat.  I had my headrest properly adjusted so that was great.  But my whole seat is popped backwards and would not adjust back forward while I was sitting in the car waiting for the police to finish the report.

Tuesday, November 7, 2006 10:15pm EST   DEMOCRATS WIN HASBROUCK HEIGHTS !!!

Democrats in Hasbrouck Heights won 2 Council seats in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.  This changes the council here from Republican controlled to Democrat controlled for the first time ever in history.  Senator Menendez retained his seat in the Senate.

Tuesday, November 7, 2006 5:00am EST  ELECTION DAY !!!

Today is election day.  I would like to encourage everyone to get out there and vote today.  It is important use your constitutional right to vote.  So please, no matter which party or candidate that you might support.  Please go vote today. The democrats will regain control of the US House today and might regain the Senate.  Locally, the Hasbrouck Heights Democrats stand a good chance of taking control of the local town council for the first time ever.  Oh well, I have to be up in a few hours.  Feed the cats and headed back to bed.  Time will tell now.  I have the day off for election activities.  Going to vote in the morning, go to the gym and then do some poll monitoring.

Sunday, November 5, 2006 10:00 EST

Over at Starbucks working on school work.  Finished my paper that is due tomorrow.  Have already walked through it once to clean it up and do some editing.  Think I will take one more pass at it tomorrow night before turning it in.  The lab had a fire drill on Friday night so I was up late.  Today I slept in.  Did some school work at Starbucks.  Mainly research for this paper.  Then went to the gym for about 2 hours.  Had dinner and watched some TV and now came back over here (Starbucks) to actually write the paper.  This class is Database management which really is not my forte.  Just finishing up and headed back home.

Saturday, November 4, 2006 8:45am EST

Just remembered that I had not upload my last posting.  So will do it now.  Also will archive off October will I am at it.  I have a ton of school work to do this weekend.  Also have several things for my coronation which I need to get resolved.  Election day is Tuesday so we are taking high school kids around town today to drop off flyers.  I am also taking off on Tuesday to poll sit for my ward.  Should be an interesting day.  So that is the short term agenda.  Long term we have Boston in two weeks and then Thanksgiving but my next out of town trip would be a short one back to Portland on December 9th for a Prince and Princess Show that I am hosting.  I fly in Friday and fly back Sunday so it will be a short trip.  After that, I stay close to home for the holidays.  In January, Edward and I are both attending the Houston coronation.  That should be fun since I have never been to Houston before for any amount of time.  I need to put together a coronation schedule and post it here.  That would be all of the out of town type of events I am planning on attending.  Then others in the ICNY can hopefully plan on attending a few of them with me.  Would be much more fun.  Oh well, got to shower and get to my doctor's appointment.

Friday, November 3, 2006 9:00pm EST

Have been rather busy as usual. Lots to due around here and trying to get some rest too.  Also have a major paper to get done that is due on Monday.  My new computer/laptop came today.  Have to work on getting things moved over to it.  Wanted to get the new computer while the discounts are good and I still get my lower University of Phoenix additional discount.  My old computer has a crack on it and is about 4 years old now.  The new one has the newest chip and seems to work rather well.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning for my respiratory sleep apnea.
