Update for March 2008
Sunday, March 16, 2008 9:30am (EDT)
Tiffany's blood work came back late this week. The doctor said it was very good. Better than when she had checked out of the hospital, so her values have been decreasing which is good. Now she does not eat as much as she used to. I am trying to get her to eat as much as she wants, but I am not sure what she wants. She sits there and meow's at me, and I put down various food but she only eats a small amount of it. Lots going on here, less than 2 weeks until the ball and rehearsals start Monday. Have our in-town awards this afternoon so have to get ready for that.

Went to the gym today and had a full day at work. Right now I am relaxing at home watching a bit of TV. Working on various things for the ball. Putting together several things for the ball and working on the in town awards this weekend. Lots going on. Tiffany is doing better, she is eating and purring and being her normal self. She gets to go to the vet for a check up on Wednesday. Everyone remembered to turn their clocks back?

Tiffany is home and relaxing. She is in "guarded" condition with lots of meds being given by us but she appears to be happy to be home. She is very thin and has an elevated thyroid as well as the chronic kidney disease. Right now she got up and is eating a bit. Edward and I are both very happy to have her back home with us. She is still very lethargic and it is still to early to tell, but see appears to be getting slightly better. She walks around a bit to say hello to us and then goes back to "her" hiding space where it is dark and sleeps. Then comes back out to talk with us, eats a little and goes back to "her" space. This weekend we will be around the house most of it. So will be able to spend time with Tiffany.

Home finally. We were about to land and then the pilot pulled up the gear and we went around. He said we were to close to another plane still on the runway so guess I have nothing to complain about. It just took another 25 minutes to circle and get back down. Mom called me while were were still on the plane. They had updated the web site and said we landed but we had not. So she thought we had landed but were still in the air. Now home and getting unpacked and about to hit the sack.
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 10:50pm (EST) - Bouncing around on CO310 from Houston to Newark
Was just working on my email. Cleaned a bunch of it up so that I could find things. Looking forward to being home but most importantly looking forward to seeing Tiffany and finding out really what the story is. Miss that little puddy. Found out from the Woodstock Vet in Portland that they have her birth date listed as 8-1-1992 in their records. They have destroyed all other records. So she is on the high side of 15. Caught a cold while in Long Beach. Blamed it on Dad since he was coughing but really I got it from Kevin in Long Beach. Always seems to happen to me when I am with someone. He is really a great guy. Anyway, I have many things to do these next few weeks. The coronation ball is rapidly approaching and I have lots of decisions and things to do to get ready.
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 6:00pm (CST) - Houston (Bush International)
Waiting for my plane here in Houston. The flight over from Palm Springs was no problem. Concerned about rain at home that might delay my flight. Right now it is saying that it is on time. So we will see. Talked to the vet before leaving Palm Springs and things have not improved with Tiffany. So I will have some hard decisions when I get back home on Wednesday. Not anything that I am sure most people would not be looking forward to. Really put a bit of a damper on my enjoying myself in Palm Springs with my dad. But I did get an opportunity to relax and bask in the sun in the pool and spa.
Monday, March 3, 2008 9:45am (PST) - Palm Springs
At my father and step-mothers place in Indio, California. Beautiful today over hear. The mountains are really nice. The wind was really kicking up yesterday when I was driving over from Long Beach. Trip was very nice, the convertible I was driving had the top down and was really a nice drive. I stopped at Walgreens and pickup some sun screen before I left Long Beach to make sure I did not burn. Have finished having breakfast with dad and his friends. Now just relaxing and enjoying the company. Going to swim later and just relax. I fly back tomorrow from the Palm Springs airport to Houston and then to Newark.
** Tiffany Update **
My friend Warren talked with the Animal Hospital earlier today. I have been on the phone with them too multiple times since yesterday. Tiffany has been in the pet hospital since Sunday. She is responding well to the transfusion that she has last night. The doctor says that if it is kidney problems, then that can be treated and with a medication she can live several more years. But if it turns out to be something else, then all bets are off. We are just keeping her in our thoughts right now. She is in critical but stable condition at the moment as we try to balance the age old question of how much money do you spend on a dear but old friend that you have known for many years.
