Update for April 2014

Sunday, April 20, 2014 1pm

Well Happy Easter to everyone.  Getting caught up on some computer work and did not realize it has been so long since I posted here.  Getting ready to head to Arizona on Wednesday and need to start packing.  The apartment looks great and it's 65 outside so that is nice.  Lots of work going on.  A taxi passenger opened the Taxi door on the street side and took off my mirror on Friday night after we were coming home from Wicked.  Great seats front balcony, center.  Guess the good thing is that he did not open the door a few seconds earlier or it would have really damaged my car and taken off the door and possibly a bit of him too.  Oh well, now my car will head into the shop while I am in Arizona for much needed new brakes and new horn and new driver rear mirror.

Update for December 2013

Tuesday, December 31, 2013 7pm EST

Happy New Year everyone.  I am up at Frank's Abode in Sparta, New Jersey with friends celebrating.  Just a dusting of snow up here, nothing of any significance.  Jeffrey is up here with me as well.  Should be a fun time to ring in the New Year and then will head back.  A very clean up day today at work.  Finally got to some of those pesky tasks that I normally do before Christmas done at work.  Caught up on plenty of items.  Lots more to do with all of the special projects going on and we are short staffed but generally things are going better now.  Good food and friends up here.  Weather forecast calls now for 6-10" of snow Thursday night so that should be interesting.

Today is the anniversary of the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.  Flags are flying at half-staff each year for this solemn anniversary of the lives lost on this attack in the tranquil Hawaiian island of Oahu.  Yesterday and through Monday flags will be at half-staff in honor of the passing of Nelson Mandela, prisoner, president and father of the 'Rainbow Nation' of South Africa helping them transition from apartheid to full representation of everyone.  I am currently in Arizona visiting my mom. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all.

Update for November 2013

Saturday, November 2, 2013

Sitting at Starbucks working on the agenda for Monday's Executive Board meeting.  Boy things are just flying past.  Have been very busy at work recently.  Working long hours to stay caught up with new projects and things happening there.  Our infrastructure was outsourced officially yesterday.  It was very difficult to say good bye to many people that were leaving.  But we continue to march forward.  November is shaping up to be a very interesting month as we sort out the differences from the outsourcing and who now we need to call on different issues.  Hope everyone had a nice Halloween.  Got to finish this agenda up and then email it out.

Update for October 2013

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

First Executive Board meeting was last night.  It went very well and the budget was presented and passed.  Kudos' to the great people I am fortune enough to be working with this year on the board.  I am supposed to be off work today but got called in on an emergency.  Waiting on mom and Bill to come flying into town.  Have lots of things that I will be doing with them over the next few days.

Update for September 2013

Monday, September 30, 2013

Had a great time at the annual HOP retreat.  It was much more relaxed than previous years.  Everyone seemed to get along together generally and the workshop flowed nicely.  I think great things are going to come from this board.

Monday, September 9, 2013

Elected co-chair of Heritage of Pride, Inc. (aka NYC PRIDE) tonight by the general membership for the next 2 years.  Should be an interesting next few years as I have some very important shoes to fill.

Update for August 2013

Monday, August 5, 2013 8am ET

Lots of things going on and not sure why I have not written for a long time.

Have been busy I guess.  And still busy since it's a Monday.

Being kicked out of my YMCA apartment on Fire Island so cleaning everything as much as possible.

Very depressing since now I have to find a place to live next season.  Oh well.  Change is constant.

Monday, May 27, 2013 11:25am ET - Memorial Day out on Fire Island

Our landlord here on Fire Island passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital last Sunday.  Jeffrey has started cleaning in No Strings (Sidney's side of the place) and I have started scanning pictures that were found for the archives.  It was a very wet Saturday out here and cold.  Yesterday was windy and cold but dry and today is looking like a great day.  May you rest in peace Sidney.

Friday, May 3, 2013 11:45am AST - Mesa, Arizona

Getting ready to leave my mom's place and head into Phoenix for the Arizona coronation this weekend.  Then I will fly out of there early Sunday morning for New Jersey and home.  Have had a great visit with family here in the Mesa area.  Cousins, Aunt, Uncle, Bill and Mom; Oh my.  Have enjoyed myself and the weather was very nice too after the first two days of 100+ degree weather.  It's a nice 80 here today with a light breeze.
